Ethan turned 3 on Saturday. Just a few random pics of the day.

Back to school, back to school…..

Ok so it’s been a week since they have gone back, but better late than never I guess. :) Keagan started the 3rd grade, and Tashie is now a big 1st grader. Nothing too eventful has happened. They both enjoy eating school lunch. The first day of school Tashie got left in the lunch room because she was taking her own sweet time, she didn’t even get to go to recess. Today she tells me that she didn’t come in from recess at the right time because she missed the blue flag. Her teacher is going to have her hands full with her this year that’s for sure. Keagan has some friends from his 2nd grade class in his 3rd grade class. He has made a lot of new friends as well. It seems like every day he comes home telling me about a new friend that he has made that day. Hopefully his year will continue to go well; heck anything will be better than his 1st grade year.

As many of you know, we recently returned from a two week trip to Washington. Let me just start out by saying I am SO glad my kids travel well! I do not remember travelling as well when I was a kid. I am fairly certain having a DVD player in the van helps out immensely. Anyhow, it took us two days of travel to get there. On the way up we did not get any gas in Oregon, although we did stay there, in Ontario. Once there we did the usual things, visited family and friends. Ate Dungeness Lobster at Beckie’s dad’s place. It was tasty. Ethan didn’t like it but he did eat 2 full ears of corn! On one day we went out to Salt Creek, played at the beach and checked out the tide pools. It was a neat day and everyone enjoyed themselves. Overall I would say it was a good trip. Hopefully it will be another 3 years before we head up there again though. Coming home we were pulling a trailer full of Beckie’s crap. We had to fill up A LOT! We had a head wind the entire way home. I even had to fill up in Oregon. I hate doing that. And, sure enough, the guy who pumped the gas was your typical country bumpkin, complete with buckteeth browned from years of tobacco chewing. We are home now. Getting back into our usual routine. It was a good break from reality for a while though. I have to admit that.

For those that may wish to know how we spent this past weekend, go see this link

A quick summary is this: I have officially declared war on pigeons.

We went to mom and dad’s yesterday. Typical Sunday thing. Played Mille Bornes. Me, Julienne, Mom, Quinette and Beckie. Mom ultimately won, but Quinette and I both had some good runs going. Everyone (but Beckie) pretended to cheat, except for mom and Quinette. If you gave her the card, she would cheat. And mom would give the card because they needed it and she felt bad. In fact, you could get mom to do whatever if you complained long enough. Beckie just hit me. Everyone laughed because I guess she looked just like Tashie when she was mad.

Going back to this cheating thing, I guess grandma p. is a big time cheater. Which explains dad and all of his siblings. You just cannot play games with those people! So, grandma cheats, dad cheats and all of us kids cheat, I guess the lesson to learn is do not compete against us, we will win every time. And more often than not, to your physical harm.

Or mine when playing with Beckie.
